Lidl Arena in Wil wird Heimspielstätte der Helvetic Guards
Lange mussten die Fans der Helvetic Guards auf die Verkündung des Stadions warten, nun wird das Geheimnis endlich gelüftet. „It will be Wil“, lautet die offizielle Mitteilung seitens des Teams, das nun seine Heimat im Lidl Sportpark Bergholz gefunden hat.
Die Lidl Arena hat eine Kapazität von 6000 Plätzen, ist top modern ausgestattet und wird im nächsten Jahr weiter modernisiert. Künftig wird im Stadion vom Lidl Sportpark Bergholz nicht nur der FC Wil sondern auch das Schweizer Team der neuen European League of Football hoffentlich viele Erfolge feiern können.
„Wir sind stolz und glücklich, mit der Wiler Sportanlagen AG (WISPAG) eine Partnerin gefunden zu haben, die an unsere Vision glaubt, mit uns zusammen tolle Events feiert und europäischen Spitzensport im Lidl Sportpark Bergholz etablieren will,“ sagt Toni Zöller, Geschäftsführer der Helvetic Guards. Weiter führt er aus, dass die Lidl Arena ideale Bedingungen für das frisch gegründete Team bietet. Die vorhandene Infrastruktur und die Grösse des Stadions ermöglichen eine tolle Atmosphäre sowie einen professionellen Auftritt der Helvetic Guards in der Premierensaison.
Seit Firmengründung ist es das Ziel der Teamoffiziellen von Helvetic Guards, die Heimspiele zu einer „one day vacation in America“ – also zu einem Tag Ferien in den USA – machen zu wollen. Nicht nur eingefleischte Football-Fans sollen mit dem Konzept erreicht werden. Mit einer innovativen Eventorganisation soll Begeisterung und Freude für diesen Sport bei gross und klein entfacht werden. Für dieses Konzept haben die Helvetic Guards die perfekte Location gefunden. Der Lidl Sportpark Bergholz in Wil bietet eine grosszügige Eventfläche. Es bestehen viele Möglichkeiten, diese kreativ zur Unterhaltung der Fans zu gestalten und ein einmaliges Eventerlebnis für alle Besucherinnen und Besucher zu erzeugen.
Durch die Kooperation der Helvetic Guards mit dem Lidl Sportpark Bergholz wird eine komplett neue Zielgruppe angesprochen. Der Standort in Wil kann sich ab 2023 als eine der spannendsten Sportstätte der Schweiz weiter etablieren. Dank der TV-Übertragungen der Spiele wird die Marke einem europaweiten Publikum präsentiert. Sabin Rickenbach, Geschäftsführerin der WISAPG, äussert sich zur Zusammenarbeit: „Wir freuen uns sehr, dass es uns gelungen ist, die Heimspiele der Helvetic Guards nach Wil zu holen. Auch wenn es bis zum Saisonstart noch einige Monate dauert, so ist die Vorfreude gross. Ab Juni 2023 spielen die Helvetic Guards an sechs Heimspielen gegen Teams aus Barcelona, Mailand, Paris oder Istanbul. Events der Extraklasse sind garantiert.
Über den Sportpark Bergholz Wil
Im Sportpark Bergholz findet man alles unter einem Dach. For a long time the fans of the Helvetic Guards had to wait for the announcement of the stadium, now the secret is finally revealed. «It will be Wil», is the official announcement on the part of the team, which has now found its home in Lidl Sportpark Bergholz.
The Lidl Arena has a capacity of 6000 seats, is equipped with top modern facilities and will be further modernized next year. In the future, not only FC Wil but also the Swiss team of the new European League of Football will hopefully celebrate many successes in the stadium of Lidl Sport-park Bergholz.

The cooperation of Helvetic Guards with Lidl Sportpark Bergholz addresses a completely new target group. Even though it is still a few months until the start of the season, the anticipation is great. Starting in June 2023, the Helvetic Guards will play six home games against teams from Barcelona, Milan, Paris or Istanbul. Top-class events are guaranteed.
